Safety First

Mending a Broken Chain on the Trail

Just in Case

This YouTube video outlines well how to change a flat while riding. When riding on the trail, be sure to take caution over tree roots, protruding rocks and other objects.

Slow down if needed, or rock upwards with handles and upper body over obstacle--suave suave with the mountain bike rental, please.

In over a decade of owning a mountain bike, I have never broken a chain. Those inexperienced with the Alaska terrain may inadvertently shift up or down abruptly-- at the wrong time and at the wrong place. Part of the finesse in mountain trail bike riding is preparing in the mind beforehand, scanning the trail ahead with the eys and shifting accordingly with the hands for optimal smooth non-broken ride--suave suave with the mountain bike rental, please.
